BUILDING A LIFELINE FOR LGBTQ+ YOUTH
From a backyard gathering in 2010 to a thriving community serving hundreds of youth every year.
OUR BEGINNINGS
In 2010, after a wave of highly publicized LGBTQ
youth suicides across the United States, Sharon
Herrera created a safe space for LGBTQ youth
in Fort Worth.
What began as a small gathering in her backyard
has grown into a vibrant community of youth,
families, volunteers, and partners working
together to ensure every LGBTQ young person
has a place to belong.
